Hi,I did the following:

Question: How does New Balance’s numbering system work? Are all 700s, for example, a specific type of running shoe?
I know New Balance has a different number for each model and that they produce shoes of all shapes and sizes. I was wondering whether 700s are meant for one thing and 300s were meant for another, etc. Or maybe the numbering system is just random? Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

They inititally just pick a number and the next shoe in that series or it’s replacement has a higher number.

If you want a particular running shoe, just go to the New Balance website and click on which type you want and it will find it for you. http://www.newbalance.com

I always thought it was related to the retail price. The higher the price, the higher the number.
