I have a Hermes Cliquetis square scarf, I bought it at an auction, they assured me it was a real one. However I have my doubts. Are there any signs in this specific square I should look for to prove it is a real Hermes square?

The answer in the following:

Answer by ♥Skating Princess Fashion QUEEN♥
First, if you had doubts, you shouldn’t have bought it!!!!!

If there is anything in black block letters, it’s fake
Most people don’t even spell it correctly, it’s Hermès
Many fakes on flimsy material, shavings often only from one pencil color.
That is the most I know of.
I think you should just go to the store, that is probably your best bet

Answer by ♥♥♥♥
Go to the actual Hermes store. They’ll compare it with another scarf, and will obviously be able to tell you whether it is real or not

Answer by Lauren
Yep, it sure does! But they didn’t mark down the prices as much as they usually do, since they are having a promotion WITH even CLEARANCE items. So, in some cases it might even be a better deals to just stick with normal priced items! Have fun shoppin!!

Q&A: How can i protect the soles of my vintage nike air jordans from cracking?
I bought some Nike air Jordans from a charity shop, they’re original 80’s by the look of them, which means the air foam on the sole is starting to crumble and crack as i wear them. Is there any way i can prevent them from breaking before they are ruined? Serious answers only please, no ‘darn that’s a shame!’ type comments.
salt? leather? that’s not in my question, i am asking about the foam above the sole.

The answer in the following:

Answer by mohammad c
to not crack the soles of your jordans it is very simple do not wear your shoes keep them in a glass case and stare at them until you get some magical power of levitation

Answer by Moira
Salt doesn’t come from the road. Salt comes from the leather itself. The leather is tanned with salt. When it gets soaking wet, the salt rises to the top of the shoe. That’s how you get the salt stains. The salt is in the lining, and it’s in the leather.

The best way to protect your footwear is to not wear it outside and tempt the fates and weather systems.

Why don’t you try to buy another shoes? Try Keds. Im using on it. My friend has a collection on a vintage shoes. Check and read this article, for further info.

Answer by jvoorhees77
Unfortunately, and I really do hate to tell you this, there isn’t much you can do once the process has begun. For a long time – like about a decade – shoe enthusiasts commonly believed that the best way to store and preserve sneakers was to keep them in dark, dry places. This idea emerged because of observations of shoes “yellowing” over time (which they combatted with limited exposure to light) and because of anecdotal evidence involving many people digging out long forgotten shoe boxes only to find the shoes covered in mildew (usually the result of storing them in warm, humid places). Like anything, people took the protective measures to extremes and many began storing their shoes with silica packs to minimize moisture during long term storage. However by removing all the moisture from the air, people learned that foam midsoles begin to crumble and glued seams dry out and open much, much faster. Granted, these things will happen in time anyway, but these less-than-ideal long term storage conditions greatly accelerate the process. The bottom line for you, unfortunately, is that since your shoes have already begun to crumble, there isn’t really much you can do to rejuvenate them. You can either wear them and enjoy them for what you have or put them away and wear them sparingly until they’re completely dead.

If this was helpful – even though maybe not the most encouraging thin to hear – I’d appreciate it if you marked this answer as a good one. Thanks!

Question: How to remove a stain from a Adidas black hoodie?
I was eating something and I spilled some kind of sauce on my new Adidas hoodie. It’s black but the stains are still pretty apparent, they look like water spots. Is there some way I can remove these stains? I’ve already tried to wash the hoodie at the laundromat but that didn’t do much good.

The answer in the following:

Answer by emerelle2k
It’s difficult to answer not knowing exactly what it is you spilled on it.

If it was oily at all, try rubbing some dish washing liquid on it and washing normally.

Answer by StevenQ
Try soaking it in Simple Green for a day or two, then wash as normal.
If you can, just soak the part that has the spots. I’ve got paint to come off of jeans with that method.

Answer by geedee
Best thing to do is soak the stained area for a few hours at least…since you already washed and probably dried it. After you allow the water to penetrate the fabric have a tooth brush and deluded dish washing liquid ready and scrub the stained area twice for about 5 minutes, then rinse it out and check and see if you might have to scrub it again, a little baking soda might help. Works for me…..

Answer by M M T
Things for you to try:

(1) I liked the answer about Simple Green but it’s not necessary to soak for a couple of days. Just spray the stains, let the spray on there for about an hour and wash normally.

(2) The dish detergent might work if it’s a grease fighting detergent but you have to be careful and not use anything that might contain bleach.

(3) I have good luck with Spray & Wash on a lot of stains. The key is to spray the stain and leave the stain remover work for an hour or so before you wash. You can’t spray and just chuck it in the washer and expect good results.

Q&A: What’s a good outfit to wear to school with Puma running shoes?
I’m planning on getting Puma running shoes so I’ve got track/exercise shoes but since they’re so expensive I feel like I’m going to have to wear them to school if I really want them to get the most out of them. Otherwise I’m going to feel like it’s kind of a waste of money. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. Thanks!!!

The following is the answer:

Answer by Rosalind
Some nice jeans? Maybe bootleg style?

Answer by Samm L
If it’s warm enough, you could wear capri’s, you can wear jeans, I would go for the “skinny flare” option as opposed to something more fitted at the bottom, because that could make your feet look awkward. You could wear a sport type pant, like these:
http://www.adidas.com/campaigns/performance/wt_ss10/content/products-detail.aspx?article=P44135&collection=clima_365#grid
If they are in style there, because I know they are here ! And pumas and those is just about the most stylish trend going on right now. That and a lululemon headband, and you’re set !
From my experience, Puma’s are a more preppy, sporty type style, so you have to coordinate the rest of your outfit with the shoes. For example, you couldn’t wear a cardigan with Pumas!
Try looking around your school to see what others are wearing with them, also. Good luck!

What should I know about estate sales before going to my first one. What are estates sales all about and how does one buy stuff. Is the stuff priced or is it sold to the best offer? Im nervous and dont wanna look stupid in front of the pros. Whats a good about of money to take?

The answer in the following:

Answer by Meghan C
i have no idea

Answer by jbudkoski
Never take what is offered. Always negotiate. Figure out the most expensive thing you want and budget accordingly to what you see on sites like Ebay or Craigslist for the particular item you wish to purchase.

Answer by tonalc1
An “estate sale” can be anything from an auction of everything in a mansion to an in-house garage sale.

At the ones I’ve gone to, the prices are set. Bring several hundred dollars, although most will take a check. They’re usually being operated by a business whose job it is to organize and run the sales, so they might even have the capability of taking a credit card.

Don’t worry about looking stupid. All people look smart when they have money.
