well… I haven’t bought from this store but, for example, LV bags look so cheap there. The same situation with wallets: they are totally the same only with different logos.

Hi, I’m 20 and I’m looking for some sneakers or casual shoes that are somewhat like sneakers. I plan on wearing them a lot during the fall season. I want to a buy a few pairs. So my question is, what brand or style is hot right now for fall 2007? I know boots and other classy style are in but I’m looking for somewhat comfortable casual sneakers. I hope sneakers is the right word for my question. My definition of a sneaker in this case is a shoe that resembles workout/sports attire but can be worn outside the gym. If any girls out there have some advice, please feel free to comment.

asics, and shoxs are great, they’re both real comfortable and they fit the women’s foot nicely. and make sure you get some comfortable socks to fit the sneakers nicely (never wear sneakers with out socks…they’ll give you blisters).

I’m buying character shoes for the play that I’m in, but I’m also a dancer and I’m wondering whether it’s smarter to buy tan/beige ones or black ones. So basically: which ones would be used more?

It’s really just a question of your personal taste. If you are going to be wearing a lot of brown shades in your dance wear or you don’t want your shoes to stand out as much go for the tan ones. If not, go for black. I personally would recommend buying the tan ones because then they blend in a bit more which works in your favor because as a dancer you want people to watch you, not your feet, (unless you’re dancing Argentine Tango, where flashy shoes are all you see).

It depends on what the costume designer wants you wearing in the play. Most of the younger classes at my dance studio use the tan ones where us adults for the last 3 years have worn black shoes. Both will get used, so I would ask the person who is in charge of costumes which they recommend so you don’t have to buy both.

I seriously need help buying basketball shoes.. I play shooting guard but love playing the low block or skying high to get a rebound.. I need something that is COMFY and wont hurt my feet after playing for hours. I always want protection for my ankle and something light. Want it relatively cheap not more than 100 (but thinking about the adizero 9.8 that are 130) but rather keep it low. What shoe should i buy and why?

Get the Hyperdunks if you want to be light. Some Nike Air Maxes for the ankle support and comfort. I personally have both, and I like them. But I prefer to wear my Hyperdunks more often than my Air’s.
I don’t recommend the Hyperfuse because when I tried on my friends, they felt nice and soft but very flimsy around the ankle.

hyperfuses r good shoes relatively 100$
dont get 2010 hyperdunks cuz they break if u tend to play hard and outside the gym
get the adidas crazy light i want those but the price is iffy
get someone with a military id and u can get 20% off of champs,footlocker or footaction

I don’t know anything quite specific, but the idea of light… Your choice of Adi Zero 9.8s is a pretty good choice. It may take shopping around, but it’s a choice that could really impact your game, so don’t rush and take your time. Factor qualities that are important to you.
Take into consideration a shoe’s:
Ankle Support
Weight
Quality
Price
Bottom of shoe (Can’t really explain it… Flat footed or curved at the bottom)
Ankle Height (Low-High cut)
Comfort (CAN BE FIXED WITH GELS!!!!! KEEP THAT IN YOUR MIND!!!!! GGGEEELLLSSS!!!!!!!!!
Etc.

Always, ALWAYS factor fashion least. A sprained ankle, bad playing, or severely hurt feet are not worth even the best looking shoes. Nothing makes you look better than sick playing.

Type, Style and Size are the top three considerations. I would head down to Dick’s Sporting Goods and see the shoe specialist. In the end you will be the one having to decide if you have found the right shoe for your feet. I definitely would buy one just because of its brand name. Taking care of your feet in Basketball, as you know, is top priority. Good Luck.

Don’t buy nike running shoes!!

Go to a store that specializes in running shoes and they will help you out with what kind of shoe is best for your type of foot.
Each person is different but Asics have never steered me wrong. neither have new balance. Mizuno are pretty good as well as Saucony(sp?)

It is best if you go to a sneaker store where they will measure your foot and look at it to give you a better sneaker. Every person has a different foot so cushion is needed in different places.

I’m probably the thriftiest mom you’ll ever meet. I buy most of my kids clothes secondhand much to the horror of my inlaws! I never skimp on shoes though. I don’t think I’d want to buy my toddlers shoes online because I think a proper fit is essential. I buy my children’s everyday shoes at Striderite. They are a bit pricey but I try to shop sales and keep track of their coupon events.I’m less picky about special occasion shoes. Our pediatricion once told me how important the right shoes are for developing correct posture and balance. Since then, that’s the one item I buy top quality. Hope that helped and didn’t just sound condescending. I have great luck finding many things on ebay so you might try there if you’d still like to buy online.

I have started running not too long agao and I have shin splints (mild pain). I think I overpronate. I also have arches that are more on the flatter side.

Should I buy running shoes that have cushioned heels (ex: Nike Shox Turbo V style)??? Or should I look for other features?

Shin splints are when your muscle tears away from the bone. When you run the muscle bangs against the bone causing pain. The best way to correct it is to tape your shins. Take strips of medical tape about 1 1/2 inches and tape on an angle like if you are looking at a barber’s pole. Tape from top to bottom on an angle.

Shin splints are usually caused from over use, or too much to soon. I would recommend going to a running shoes store have them analysis your running gate and re comment for pronation if that is what you have. As far as the shin splints rest and ice. go to www.runnersworld.com and go to preventing injuries or google shin splints. there is some good advise on how to prevent and help them heal. ignoring them will cause you greater pain

To know about your foot plant go to a good running store and have them look at your stride.
There are shoes made for different types of runners.
They may help.
This is not related to your shin splints, they are usually from running on hard surfaces, or being too tense, and not conditioned to running.

Stretch, massage, and ice can help.

Shin splints are the result of muscle imbalance. Strong calves, weak shin muscles. To prevent them, lie face down in bed with your toes hanging over the edge. Slowly pull your toes upward against the resistance of the mattress. Hold for 1 or 2 seconds, then repeat. Try to work up to 2 or 3 sets of 10.

Now that you already have the injury, it’s best to rest and ice them to relieve the pain. Flat feet don’t necessarily require lots of cushioning such as high-arched feet do, but it’s more about how you run and what shoe you feel best running in. Continue to do research on running sites and do some experimenting. A good runners’ store is your best resource.
