Question: How much would 200+ Hot Wheels be worth?
So, me and my mother are planning to have a yard sale this weekend, and I have a bucket of at least 200 Hot Wheels toys from when I was younger that I want to sell. Me and her thought we could sell for about $ 100, but that seems a bit pricey. I’m not really sure how much there is, but 200+ is a rough estimate. I was wondering if anybody could maybe come up with a price that is a bit more reasonable. Thanks in advance.

The answer in the following:

Answer by Shellback
I truly hate to rain on your parade but a bucket full of scratched up Hot Wheels is not going to get you a 100 bucks. Collectibles are valuable based on supply and demand. There were millions of Hot Wheels made, so there goes your supply and demand. On the other hand if you had one or even a few of the very early released cars in there unopened boxes now we are talking a possible value. In my opinion I would sell them individually and ask 50 cents each and see what happens. You might have to lower the price but you would get much closer to you 100 dollar figure that way. My opinion.

Answer by Katie
Considering that there are packs of 50 hot wheels sold for 50$ , and you have 200 (then again they are used.), you could probably get 110$ – 120$ .

Question: Would is be more economical to buy beige or black character shoes?
I’m buying character shoes for the play that I’m in, but I’m also a dancer and I’m wondering whether it’s smarter to buy tan/beige ones or black ones. So basically: which ones would be used more?

The following is the answer:

Answer by Hayley
It’s really just a question of your personal taste. If you are going to be wearing a lot of brown shades in your dance wear or you don’t want your shoes to stand out as much go for the tan ones. If not, go for black. I personally would recommend buying the tan ones because then they blend in a bit more which works in your favor because as a dancer you want people to watch you, not your feet, (unless you’re dancing Argentine Tango, where flashy shoes are all you see).

Answer by lizardmomma
It depends on what the costume designer wants you wearing in the play. Most of the younger classes at my dance studio use the tan ones where us adults for the last 3 years have worn black shoes. Both will get used, so I would ask the person who is in charge of costumes which they recommend so you don’t have to buy both.

What do you think? Answer below

Question: Would sales tax be the same on any laptop you buy that is the same price?
I’m buying a $ 600 laptop online. As I was checking out, I noticed the estimated tax is $ 42.40. I live in NJ.
My question is would any and every laptop I would buy that costs $ 600 have a sales tax of $ 42.40?

The following is the answer:

Answer by Community Matters
wow.
just.
wow.

Answer by rtfm
New Jersey sales tax is 7 percent. That means you’d pay $ 42 on a $ 600 item.

And yes, sales tax is the same percent no matter what you’re buying.

Q&A: Discuss the reasons why Praxiteles’ statue of Hermes with Infant Dionysus would be considered a piece of the H?

High Classical period

The following is the answer:

Answer by RObert
piece of the H

Answer by Olive Sorceress
Technically, it is a Roman marble copy of what is a now-lost (probably) marble original that was hand colored.

The copy does have the contrapposto stance where the figure shifts its weight to one leg creating an S-curve to the body. The body is idealized. The figure is integrated with its support and interacts with the baby Dionysus.

What isn’t Greek Classical about it is the drilled hair and uncolored appearance of the marble. The Greeks would have had artists apply colored waxes for the clothes and hair and colored stones for eyes.

Q&A: Would it be bad to name my daughter Hermesa after the Greek god, Hermes? What’s the worst that can happen?
Assuming the Greek gods are real of course.
I’m not asking whether or not she’d get teased. I want to know what Hermes could do if he found out.

The answer in the following:

Answer by pat z
Kids at school could end up calling her “Herpes”.

Answer by Michael S
I would not advise you do not know the spiritual implications it could have.

Answer by ex-liberal atheist
Honestly ? She’ll get teased. Eh. I’d rather get teased and grow up with ‘Hermesa’ than NOT be teased and grow up with ‘Susan’ or something. How about just straight up Athena ? Eh, your kid. At least you’re not naming her ‘blanket’ or ‘apple’ or some other insane celebrity name.

Answer by Angela
As far as “spiritual implications” are concerned, I’ll say go for it- if the name ‘speaks’ to a deep part of your soul, and, as you do, that the gods are real, then have you considered that they may WANT you to name her after Hermes?
Personally, I think its a beautiful name for a little girl, and it doesn’t really sound like herpes- not many kids will be smart enough to make the connection from Hermesa to Hermes to herpes.

It really is beautiful

Answer by Alex P
Hermes Loki alliance ? Not sure if old thrice great would like being allied with that rotten little trickster Loki

Hermes could do lots but he’s I sincerely doubt he would do anything nasty. Best thing to do is try a meditation. Calm your mind for 5 mins, slow your breathing and then call out his name in your mind. If you feel a tingling of energy like pinpricks you’ll know he’s in your presence. He doesn’t answer very often but it’s worth a try. If he does respond, ask him. But make sure you ask two questions, the second being does he mind being allied with Loki

And yes they are real.

Answer by Pirate Bosun
I would think that The femization of Hermes would be Hermione wouldn’t it? Maybe you should use the roman version of the myth because Mercury turns into Muriel much nicer than the Greek version. The name Hermes is strongly masculine one. If he existed he might get mad that you named a girl after him, I don’t think the myths portray him as very even tempered. Remember being a mercurial person is usually a bad thing.

mercurial
adjective
1. changeable; volatile; fickle; flighty; erratic: a mercurial nature.
2. animated; lively; sprightly; quick-witted.

Answer by jinglehimer36
Dan Hardy hands down. Franca had a good run in the lightweight division of the UFC, but recently lost a regional fight in Iowa and retired. He is still an instructor for BJJ.

Answer by Jonathan
dan hardy ko

Answer by Dr.feel me
i am still surprise by franca’s successes in the ring to date frankly,he is such a weak fighter,i guess he wins because people just get winded and punch themselves out hitting him,he is like punching a inner tire tube or a rubberman,he is so boring a fighter! so i think ,i hope Harding seriously!

The following is the answer:

Answer by ambisinister
i dont think i would buy anything from a door-to-door salesperson. i think they are pushy. i buy a lot of things over the internet or through catalogs of stores that i know.

Answer by ye_river_xiv
I would buy only small objects that require personal inspection from door-to-door salespeople. A door-to-door salesperson has a very limited inventory. The bigger the object, the fewer the choices they can carry around, and the only real benefit to door to door sales is that you can see what you’re looking at.

By mail order, I would buy mainly things that are nearly impossible to find, but which are more or less interchangeable. My weird movies, my rare books, and my hard to find hardware.

Answer by freaky gardener
Don’t buy anything from a door to door sales person.
Buy all my cosmetics by mail from Yves Rocher.
their products are the best all natural and not tested on animals

Answer by windancerhil
Don’t buy from either.
